The Tice Ranch - Overview

The Tice Ranch is Washington State's premier western estate property, and represents a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire an extraordinary home on an even more extraordinary site.

The Tice Ranch was assembled, designed and crafted by Lou and Diane Tice as a family retreat, a working ranch and a facility for conducting The Cascade Forum, a program which has attracted participation from leaders in the corporate, government, military and academic sectors throughout the world. The main lodge at the Tice Ranch is the embodiment of quality in design and construction, a supremely welcoming and comfortable living environment which takes full advantage of the spectacular natural beauty which surrounds it on all sides at its location near Twisp in the Central Methow Valley.

Location - Central Methow Valley, North Central Washington State

The Methow Valley is a relatively narrow valley stretching from the eastern edge of the North Cascades National Park near Mazama at its upper end following the Methow River down to its confluence with the Columbia River near Pateros. Historically the Methow's economy has been based on timber and agriculture. Because of its great natural beauty, its unlimited outdoor activities and amenities and its climate, the Methow enjoys a reputation as one of the most appealing unspoiled recreational areas anywhere in the United States. There is an excellent compilation of information about the Methow Valley available at two websites: www.methow.com and www.methownet.com.

To the serious outdoorsman, the Methow is mecca. World class venues for all of the following are found in, or in close proximity to the Methow: hiking, cross country and down hill skiing, mountain and road bicycling, hunting, fishing, river rafting and horse riding. The Methow Valley Sport Trails Association (MVSTA) maintains nearly 200 kilometers of trails in a series of networks extending throughout the valley which are used for cross country skiing in winter and hiking, horse riding and bicycling in summer. There is a wonderful small downhill skiing facility located just 7 miles away at Loup Loup Summit, which has an elevation of 4,020 feet.

The Methow Valley is literally surrounded by wilderness, park and forest lands including: the North Cascade National Park, the Lake Chelan National Recreation Area, the Lake Chelan/Sawtooth Wilderness, and the Okanogan National Forest to the south and west and the Pasaytan Wilderness to the north and east.
